The World Reimagined trail in Bristol will consist of 10 Globe sculptures: 1 for each of the 9 themes of the Journey of Discovery – and one that is created in a unique collaboration between an artist and local people and communities – to speak to your voice, your experiences and your hopes and ambitions. After all, the work of making racial justice a reality begins with us, our families, our communities and our city. We hope that you will add your unique perspective, either by joining one of our workshops, or through the form at the bottom of this page.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience,
and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
Date: Tuesday 24 May, 6pm-8pm
Where: St Pauls Learning Centre, BS2 8XJ
Multi-award-winning Artist, Michele Curtis, established Iconic Black Britons CIC in 2019. This innovative incentive accumulated following five years of development. In 2014, following her success of winning the Stanley Hooper Award, Michele Curtis held her first exhibition for Black History Month called Iconic Black Bristolians. Her exhibition was a retrospective of six portraits illustrating some of the most respected and influential Black Bristolians. Curtis’ work is heavily influenced by her desire to encourage integration through the positive representation of Black people in contemporary Britain.
